Back in 2004, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos met to discuss space and their respective companies. Musk shared some harsh feedback with Bezos about his recent efforts, “Dude, we tried that and that turned out to be really dumb, so I’m telling you don’t do the dumb thing we did.”
While both companies are interested in many of the same things — re-usable rockets, landing aboard ships at sea, and more — they’ve taken a vastly different approach to getting there. Bezos decided to ignore Musk’s advice, opting instead to exhibit immense patience, focus on trailblazing his own path, and continue to experiment.
Who will win the billionaire space race? We’re not sure, but we’re definitely excited for the opportunity to have inter-planetary partnerships in the future!
